    Text from the press release:

Carl Holty was born in Germany in 1900 and received most of his formal art training in the United States. He attended Marquette University, The Art Institute of Chicago, and The National Academy of New York, as well as The Royal Academy and Hans Hoffman School in Munich. He is an internationally known abstract painter and has said that he hoped his paintings “…would reveal some heretofore unnoticed elements in nature rather than recall to mind an aspect previously noted and common to visual experience….”

His work is in the collections of The Addison Gallery of Art, The Corcoran Gallery of Art, Yale University, The Metropolitan Museum, The Whitney Museum, and many others.

Mr. Holty will speak on the topic of an abstract painters view of today’s realism in art and “pop” art.
