Chaosma, presented by the Goethe-Institut, in conjunction with the Chicago Cultural Center, Northwestern University, Northern Illinois University, and The Renaissance Society. Founded nine years ago in Hamburg, Germany by former students of Gyorgy, Ligeti, the ensemble Chaosma works with new concepts of melody and harmony. Pop, ethno-related, and historical metres are some of the threads which run through this fusion of composed and improvised music. Chaosma is comprised of Manfred Stahnke and Sidney Corbett (composers), Hubertus Dreyer (composer and pianist) and Seth Josel (guitarist).
