The acclaimed Chao-Ming Tung (b. 1969) is featured composer and performer on the gu-zheng (a Chinese zither) for this performance. Tung studied tuba at the Chinese Culture University in Taipei in 1987-88 before moving to Germany. From 1990-97, he studied composition with Johannes Fritsch and Mauricio Kagel at the Hochschule fur Musik Koln. Since 1997, he has been a member of the Kolner Gesellschaft fur Neue Musik.
