For 99 years the Renaissance Society has sparked ideas and fueled creation. Your support ensures our future. Make a Big Bang.
What the Renaissance Society does best is create space for artists to experiment, to take risks, and to push their practices forward. We are a unique institution in the United States, and we rely on the generosity of those who share our intellectual curiosity and creative vision to sustain our work. Proceeds from this event directly benefit our commissions, exhibitions, and interdisciplinary programming, all of which are free and open to the public.
Join us from 6:30pm for an evening of cocktails, dinner, and performance followed by live and silent auctions. On the live auction block are a suite of photographs by Vanessa Beecroft, a rare early painting by Luc Tuymans, and a dinner experience with artist Theaster Gates and Rebuild Foundation. The silent auction includes work by Luke Fowler, Zak Prekop, William J. O’Brien, and Ida Ekblad, among many other exciting, emerging artists.
This year’s auction is presented in partnership with Paddle8, an online auction house that connects buyers and sellers of fine art around the world. The Renaissance Society auction items are available to view and open for advance bidding at Paddle8.
Live auction will be conducted by Steve Zick, Christie’s Chicago.
After party
Join us after the gala and auction for a Big Bang bash with drinks courtesy of Half Acre Beer Co. DJ’s from celebrated Chicago record label Numero Group ensure an unforgettable night with their distinctive blend of pop, soul, funk, and blues. The after party starts at 10pm.
