  • This exhibition features sterling silver tea and coffee services designed by some of the best-known architects on the international scene. They were commissioned by Officina Alessi, S.P.A., a housewares manufacturer in Milan, Italy. Each service, which consists of coffee pot, tea pot, creamer, sugar bowl, and tray, is a unique reflection of the individual architect’s sense of design and architecture. They are handmade by Italian silversmiths, and are produced in .925 silver in an edition of ninety-nine numbered copies. They bear the monogram of the architect and the year of production.

This exhibition was organized by the Max Protech Gallery, New York. Following the exhibition at the Renaissance Society, the silver will travel to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and the LaJolla Museum of Contemporary Art.
