  • Lydia Ourahmane (b. 1992, Saïda; lives between London and Oran) and Alex Ayed (b. 1989, Strasbourg; lives between Brussels, Paris, and Tunis) take varied approaches from research-based to formal and intuitive experimentation across mediums, including sculpture, installation, and text-based work, to explore histories embedded in borders, the land, and subjective experiences of place.

Their latest collaboration brings together interests in the ways intimacy, poetics, and even magic can subtly intervene in seemingly fixed, “preconceived” macro patterns, from the geopolitical for Ourahmane to the geologic and materiality of earth and its elements, for Ayed.
