During the COVID-19 pandemic, the health of our guests and employees is our highest priority. This Fall, the Renaissance Society implemented increased safety precautions to open our gallery for in-person visits by appointment only. However, as of Friday, November 13, 2020, the Renaissance Society gallery will temporarily close to the public in accordance with new guidance issued by the city of Chicago and the University of Chicago. This closure is part of city- and campus-wide efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19.
We thank everyone who came to see our fall exhibition, Nine Lives. As the exhibition closes two days early, we invite you to explore a variety of related virtual offerings, including a full 3D walk-through, artist commentary, and recorded programs. We will announce plans for our upcoming exhibition, Haig Aivazian: All of the Lights, in coming weeks.
We are hopeful for the health and safety of everyone in our community. We’ll be thinking of you until we open again and we’re grateful for everyone who has participated in our virtual programs, visited the exhibition, and, especially to the artists with whom we continue to collaborate.
