Sculpture and Sculptor’s Drawings

The Renaissance Society wishes to express its grateful appreciation of Freeman Schoolcraft and Egon Weiner who have given much time and thought to the selection and arrangement of this exhibition. Both are well-known for their sculpture and both are widely acquainted with the work of other Chicago sculptors. They have in common a generous and active interest in the furthering of a more general understanding of the medium.

Knowing that it would be impossible to include the work of every sculptor of significance in this region, they have decided, by independent selection, to offer a broad cross-section of the various trends in present-day sculpture. They have included sculpture in many styles and media, ranging from the traditional and classic to the abstract, and examples of the various techniques.

Such an exhibition can demonstrate that sculpture is not as inaccessible to the average amateur or collector as is generally supposed. Not to mention the drawings or the smaller pieces here presented, which are of a character to fit easily into any modern home.
