This talk took place on Zoom.
Animated by research and more casual discoveries, Haig Aivazian’s work explores apparatuses of control and tracks the effects of power as they are manifested in extractivism, technology, and subjectivity. For All of the Lights, Aivazian presents an immersive installation made up of a trio of works, tailored to the architecture of the Ren and synchronized along a cyclical sequence. The artist joins curator Karsten Lund in conversation on the exhibition’s opening day, discussing the work on display in the gallery and the broader themes at play in his practice.
The two video works in All of the Lights, All of Your Stars Are but Dust on My Shoes (2021) and Prometheus (2019), will screen on Renaissance TV before and after the talk, first at 1pm and again at 4pm.
Live captioning will be available for this event.
