Join us to celebrate 100 incredible years of the Renaissance Society at the University of Chicago. What began in 1915 as a group of University of Chicago academics has grown into a rigorous platform for risk-taking, boundary-pushing contemporary art. This special dinner and gala honors the artists who have shaped our history and inspire our future.
This formal evening takes place at the Cloister Club in the University of Chicago’s historic Ida Noyes Hall, which opened in 1916 just after the Renaissance Society was founded. The event is chaired by Penny Pritzker and Bryan Traubert and features dinner by guest chef Paul Kahan of Avec, Blackbird, and Nico Osteria. Musical performances by artist Stephen Prina, who had a solo Renaissance Society exhibition in 1989, and harpist Zeena Parkins follow.
