    3pm artist talk:

    Swift Hall, 3rd floor, 1025 E. 58th St

Opening reception at the Renaissance Society:

Cobb Hall, 4th Floor, 5811 South Ellis Ave

To mark the opening of LAWS OF CONFUSION, artists Lydia Ourahmane and Alex Ayed join curators Myriam Ben Salah and Karsten Lund in conversation at 3pm on the 3rd floor of Swift Hall at the University of Chicago. Concurrently, the exhibition will be open for regular hours of 12-6pm, with an opening from 3-6pm to celebrate the artists.

Advance registration is not required to attend the opening. However, capacity for the artist talk is limited.

Register for the talk in advance here to guarantee your spot; walk-ins may be accommodated, but only as capacity allows.

Masks are required at all times in the building. All tickets are will-call; no printed or digital ticket is necessary for entry. However, all attendees must show one of the following at check-in for entry: proof of COVID-19 vaccination (vaccine card or photo of vaccine card); documented negative result from a COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event; or a current University of Chicago I.D. card.

The 3rd floor of Swift Hall is reachable by stairs or elevator. The north entrance to Swift Hall is behind a small number of concrete steps; a ramp on the south-west side of the building provides wheelchair access to the 1st floor and elevator. This is a seated event, and volume levels will not be excessive. Live captioning will be available.
